LAUGHTER CONFERENCE IN LOS ANGELES

Hello My Laughing Friends,

Laughing Laura here. I bet you're wondering why I haven't posted a blog in so long. Well, I've moved to a home in the woods with...no internet! ha ha ha! It's been wonderful to get in touch with nature and take a break from regular internet use. Nevertheless, I'm still laughing, I'm still contact-able and I've got some EXCITING things to share with you!

I just returned from the Laughter Conference in Los Angeles, California. Below are some pics, which help tell the story of the amazing adventure it was.

I traveled from Chicago with the Amazing Terri Reasoner

Here's a group picture on the last day of the conference

The Master Trainers: Linda Tourloukis, Laughing Laura, Sebastien Gendry, Linda LeClerc, and Merv Neal

I got to MC the Laughter Winners Competition! This was a non-competitive competition in which everyone WON a special title for their unique contribution to the night's humor.

One of the talented competitors is a naturalist who told about the Turkey Vulture (I got to be her example)

Each winner was photographed with the panel of judges and their award. Here is Santa and Mrs. Claus winning their award.

One of the acts had people do yoga poses and laugh!

I even got an award for my accessories!

It was a marvelous time, as you can tell. Visit www.LaughterConference.com to see more pictures and learn about next year's event to be held in Portland.

It inspired me to publish the dates I've already booked for the 2015 Laugh-Fest of the Midwest and to open registration for it! Click here to learn more. It's going to be the most fun you can have in a weekend. Start planning now.

2012 ALL AMERICA LAUGHTER YOGA CONFERENCE

In September, I traveled to Chicago for the All America Laughter Yoga Conference. It was the fourth one at which I’ve presented. This year, my contribution was primarily laughter dances. I’ve been experimenting with combining laughter with various dances—both folk and popular. My presentation was called “Laugh Deeper: How to Harness the Spiritual Power of Laughter Yoga.” Within that presentation, I taught a laughing Hora dance (from the Jewish faith), led a laughing drumming circle (from the Native America tradition) and a laughing labyrinth (and ancient spiritual practice from many world religions). I also collaborated with Anne Timpany since she and I were both working with the spiritual realm. That way, I also got to experience her Embodying Joy exercises as part of our joint break-out session. The whole conference was uplifting as always. Here are some fun pictures from the event. Some are borrowed from Laughter Yoga Amerca and the rest are my own. Enjoy the pics and consider attending next year’s conference. More information at: www.LaughterYogaAmerica.com.
