LAUGHING & DANCING IN CHURCH

On Sunday, my church, Our Savior's Lutheran, held it's 6th Annual Holy Hilarity Sunday. We've gotten to be quite the laughing church in the years since our laughter club began. The pictures below are evidence of the fun-loving people that comprise the congregation. This year, in addition to celebrating the resurrection with laughter and jokes, we also performed a high-energy "half time" dance. What a great way to have fun in worship! There's nothing like doing a joyful dance.  Check out the video here or view it below.

LAUGHING LAURA—A LAUGHTER REVOLUTIONARY

Jeffrey Briar, Director of the Laughter Yoga Institute, has just published a new book called Laughter Revolutionaries.

This 120 page, softcover book features interviews, stories, sermons and essays from movers and shakers in the field of Laughter for Health. Jeffrey has written the forward and afterward of this inspirational resource.

Revolutionaries include: Dr. Patch Adams, Dr. Madan Kataria, Madhuri Kataria, Dr. Gita Suraj-Naryan, Rev. John Millspaugh, Rev. Tom Owen-Toole, Kathryn Burns, and me—the laughing Lutheran minister! I'm honored to be among these auspicious laughter revolutionaries.

The book retails for $14.95. An e-book version is available for $9.95. Click here for purchasing options.

LAUGHING LUTHERANS LADIES

On Wednesday, September 8, I had the amazing priviledge of laughing with a group of Lutheran ladies—and not just any group, an enormous group of about 135. The area gathering of the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America was held at a camp on the shores of the beautiful Twin Lakes in Northwest Iowa. I was the keynote speaker at the event, which was a day-long retreat with lots of holy laughter.

The night before, I got to stay in this beautiful cabin with a view of the lake. My wonderful hostess,
Donna, is pictured with me below.

Below are some action shots from the day.

Press play below to see the incredible scene of 135 Lutheran Ladies laughing in the joy of the Lord for a whole minute! It was breath-taking. We all felt a sense of renewal!
